Click On The Cell Phone
to start the onscreen cell phone simulator!
It shows how easy it is to enter text on a cell phone using MessagEase!

With the dictionary ON
(Predictive mode)
Tap on each button once!
Since the letters on MessagEase keyboard are already assigned based on their frequency, no key contains more than one most frequent letters. This makes determining which letter you wanted (disambiguation) a lot eaiser than T9!
With the dictionary OFF
it works in any language and you can use it to enter any character sequence, since it is deterministic!

MessagEase's hard-key is a great alternative to multi-tap, the arduous current method for inputting text into cell phones. It uses a simple, consistent, and elegant method to enter each letter or character by two key-clicks.

Unlike T9, MessagEase is completely deterministic and requires no disambiguation. What you enter is what you get, and there is no need to attend to and eliminate choices to get to what you like to enter!

How to Enter Characters:
All characters on a regular keyboard can be entered by a two-key combination:

E.g., to enter a "?", click 3, then 2
This is because "?" is assigned to key 3, and placed closest (pointing) to key 2.
The character map is the same asthe softkey (Palm) version.

For the main keys 1-9 rollover is assumed to create more combinations:

Right side of key 3 , points to key 1.
likewise, top side of key 1 points to key 7.
Therefore, to enter ")" click key 6, then 4.
